Northern Ensemble Workshop Program
This program will run across Launceston, Devonport, and Burnie. Make new friends, learn about ensemble playing, and experience the big sound of a large group. Guest mentors, conductors, and tutors will work with students in this special workshop program. Each location will host workshops in terms 1, 2 and 3. Term 4 will feature an all-in, mega ensemble in Devonport. You can attend as many as you like in any location. Dates and details announced soon. Register your interest to be the first to find out!

Conductors and mentors will include musicians from the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Virtuosi Tasmania, and interstate specialists such as Ben Castle and Amberley Bremner.

Term 3 Dates
Cancellation notice: all TYO Northern Workshops for term 3 (Burnie, Devonport and Launceston) have been cancelled – but we’ll be back in term 4!
Why the change? We had lots of people contact us and say they wanted to come to the scheduled workshops but they just couldn’t make the dates work this term, due to intensive school commitments and the amount of other activities scheduled in the region. Thanks for the feedback: it helps us make good decisions around resourcing and scheduling.
We’ll be in touch with participants soon to advise dates and plans for term 4 – and we hope to see you there!

No auditions necessary for this program but registrations are essential.

Parents, please join us for the last half hour of each workshop to hear a taste of what has been learnt through the day. We'd also love to invite music teachers to come along to any of the Ensemble Workshops. Join us to experience each guest mentor's methods for ensemble rehearsals.
