To enable participation from around the state and to facilitate access for busy senior secondary and tertiary students, some of our projects are run as intensive seasons.

Our flagship ensemble, the TYO brings together students from around the state for short intensive seasons through the year.

In 2011 TYO has performed in Launceston and Hobart for the 10 Days on the Island Festival, and in concerts at the Stanley Burbury Theatre.

The Stanley Burbury concerts bring together the University of Tasmania Symphony Orchestra and the Tasmanian Youth Orchestra to form a larger orchestra.

The first concert this year conducted by Fabian Russell included works of Shostakovich and Rimsky-Korsakov. The second concert will include Beethoven and Stravinsky, conducted by Brett Kelly.
