TYO Sinfonietta

Musicians in the TYO Sinfonietta range in age from 10 to 16. Many are already experienced performers but for some, their participation in the TYO Sinfonietta is their first experience of playing in a full orchestra. To ensure young players are fully supported in their instrumental development, this orchestra runs to a 'one in four model' with every fourth rehearsal featuring a sectional with specialist mentors, followed by a tutti session with the mentors sitting in. Senior players in this orchestra are challenged with section leadership roles. The orchestra explores both traditional and more recent repertoire. A great way to experience orchestral music!
