Support Us

TYO relies on a diverse funding mix including players fees, donations, business sponsorships, in-kind support from our community based partners, and government grants for specific projects. TYO does not receive government support for its administration and weekly rehearsal programs.

Please consider supporting the Tasmanian Youth Orchestra, enabling us to inspire more young Tasmanian musicians with amazing experiences.

Donate

To make a tax-deductable donation, please donate online or contact info@tyo.org.au.

Fund a Chair

Like TYO alumnus William Lane, you can support an individual musician who is experiencing financial difficulty. A contribution of $1,000 will provide a bursary for their program fees and additional support through specialist mentoring. Your generosity will be acknowledged in concert programs and our annual report, and you're welcome to do so anonymously.

Volunteer

Volunteers are always needed for a range of roles with TYO. These include musical tuition, library assistance, camp parents, concert front-of-house staff, stage management, concert production, touring assistants, fundraising, marketing and publicity volunteers.

To volunteer, please contact info@tyo.org.au. Please note that if you wish to volunteer you will need current Working with Vulnerable People registration.

Sponsorship

The TYO is looking for sponsorship for player bursaries, future touring, and purchase of instruments and music. If you would like to sponsor our players or activities, please contact info@tyo.org.au.

Buy a manuscript book

Thanks to our friends over at CutCummon, you can get a limited edition manuscript book and support TYO in the process! 50% of the profit of these TYO player designed books go direct to TYO. Get yours here.

Make a bequest

A bequest establishes an enduring legacy that will provide for future generations of young Tasmanian musicians. If you are considering supporting TYO through a bequest, please see the detailed bequests information here.

Why your support matters

We recently had the pleasure of working with Guest Conductor, Elena Schwarz, the Assistant Conductor of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. Hear her own observations on working with TYO and the value of such opportunities for our young musicians.
