Work With The TYO

Do you want to inspire, nurture and develop young Tasmanian musicians? Is a lifelong love of music a gift you want every child to receive? Join the TYO team and do exactly that! Read on to see what positions are currently available.

Tutors

As part of our ongoing program, we run ad hoc tutorial sessions within each ensemble. These are designed to support the growth of the ensemble at various times through the year and provide a platform to focus on instrument-specific topics and address difficult passages. We welcome expressions of interest from suitably qualified instrumental teachers who would like to take these sessions. Please forward your CV and a cover letter to info@tyo.org.au, and include the ensemble or level you would be best suited to and how you would see yourself contributing to the development of the players.

Volunteers

Want to be involved but not sure how you can contribute? Our parents and friends are the lifeline of the organisation and we have many ways for you to put your expertise to a worthy cause. Some of our regular volunteer duties include:

  • Player supervision
  • Concert box office team
  • Concert refreshment (tea and coffee) helpers
  • Concert ushers
  • Marketing and design development
  • Archival concert recording
  • Photographers
  • Alumni researchers

There are so many more opportunities to get involved so please start a conversation with us and how you might like to support these amazing young musicians!

Please note that a valid Working With Children Check or relevant teaching registration is a prerequisite for all TYO employees and contractors. If you would like to read more about our policies, you can do so here.
