Tasmanian Youth Orchestras is seeking one new Board member to fill a vacancy on its skills-based Board.
The director will ideally have extensive experience in board governance, finance and accounting, legal and risk compliance, and strategy.

TYO delivers instrumental and choral music education, development and performance programs every year to more than 200 young Tasmanians aged seven to 25, as well as an annual program of high-quality, inspiring performances to audiences around the state and online.

About the role
The Director will join six other Directors in providing effective governance of TYO including development, approval and monitoring of TYO’s Strategy; the annual budget and ongoing financial performance; and legal and risk compliance. The Director will contribute to the development of Board and operational policies, stakeholder engagement and fundraising.

The successful applicant will possess integrity, demonstrate a record of achievement, be agile and committed to the organisation, be a constructive contributor and an effective team player.

Skills and experience in finance and accounting are essential.

Skills and experience in legal and risk compliance, and strategic planning are preferred.

Governance experience and/or qualifications are highly desirable but are not essential.

It is preferable the Director is open to holding an executive role.

First Nations people and new-to-governance professionals are encouraged to apply.

A Federal Police Check and current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) are essential.
