TYO Board & Management

Tasmanian Youth Orchestras is governed by a voluntary Board with a suite of diverse skills. The Board provides governance oversight for the organisation, including strategic planning, financial control, legal compliance and review of organisational performance. The Board is stable, aligned, progressive and innovative, has led a transformation of the organisation over the last decade and has a strong vision and strategy for the future, articulated through the TYO 2025-2028 Strategic Plan.

The TYO Board is supported by the TYO Chief Executive Officer.

Sally Chandler

Chair

An international trade specialist with particular expertise in marketing, business development and strategy, Sally joined the TYO Board in 2020 and commenced as Chair in 2024.

David Chalmers AO, CSC

Secretary

Dave is a retired senior Australian Defence Force officer and former Commonwealth public servant with more than three decades of military service and fifteen years in senior executive roles across Veteran and Indigenous Affairs. He joined the TYO board in 2026.

Shing Leung

Board Member

Shing is a clarinetist, conductor and educator, formerly a member of the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble and now based in Launceston. Shing joined the TYO board in 2025

Clare Ramsden

Deputy Chair

Clare is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and the Executive Director of Allied Health at the Tasmanian Health Service, Hospitals South. Clare joined the TYO Board in 2024.

Dominique Baker

Board Member

Dominique is a pianist, music educator, director and accompanist working with musicians from all walks of life. Based in the north-west of Tasmania, Dominique is dedicated to fostering confidence in performing and strong personal connections to music. She joined the TYO Board in 2023.

Kyna Hart

CEO & Public Officer

Kyna is a management, communications and engagement specialist with extensive experience as a lead on complex private and public-sector projects.

Lyndal Moore

Treasurer

Lyndal is a Chartered Accountant, CFO at Mosaic and former Deputy President of the Australian Red Cross. A former TYO cellist, Lyndal joined the TYO Board in 2022.

Michael Correa

Board Member

Michael is a strategy, marketing and business development professional with over 25 years' experience. He started as a musician and later band manager/promoter, organising tours around Australia and Asia, earning an ARIA nomination as a producer. He joined the TYO board in 2025.
