TYO CHORALES
Sing, perform, develop great vocal technique and musicianship – and experience the joys of choral artistry and exceptional collaborations!

Young singers in the TYO Tasmanian Chorales have the opportunity to rehearse weekly with exceptional conductors and accompanists, as well as performing in at least three TYO concerts each year.
Unlike the instrumental ensembles, the chorales are not auditioned: all levels of experience are welcomed. If you love to sing, join us!
A key element of TYO’s offering is exceptional performance opportunities, including high artistic value collaborations with professional musicians. The TYO Chorales have particular opportunities in this space, experiencing tours and recording collaborations with professional ensemble Van Diemen's Band, as well as performing live on radio and at community events and festivals. All TYO singers have the opportunity to perform in at least three TYO concerts each year, plus community performances. These opportunities are an outstanding benefit of TYO participation and collaborations are particularly valuable to young people who may be considering a professional career in the sector.

TYO TASMANIAN JUNIORÂ CHORALE
Conductor: Grace Ovens
Age range: 7-11 years
The perfect way to introduce juniors to the joys of music. Junior Chorale singers are aged 7 to 11 and rehearse engaging and fun repertoire, learning skills like reading music and good vocal technique along the way. No auditions are held for this chorale and all participants are welcomed.
TYO TASMANIAN YOUTH CHORALE
Conductor: Madeleine Dyer
Age range: 12-25 years
Singers in this ensemble rehearse challenging choral repertoire and have been regularly invited to collaborate with professional ensembles and sing live on radio, in addition to performing in TYO and community concerts. No auditions are held for this chorale and all participants are welcomed.
TASMANIAN YOUTH CHORALE LEGACY
In 2018, TYO joined forces with Tasmanian Youth Chorale in an amalgamation of two organisations with aligned visions of providing quality music education and ensemble experiences to young Tasmanians.

Originally formed in 2008, The Tasmanian Youth Choirs had three choirs to cater for a range of ages from seven to 25. Over the years, the Tasmanian Chorales won numerous awards at local eisteddfods and performed for the Governor General, the Consul General of Japan, the Moorilla International tennis finals day, on radio and sang regularly at Government House.
