Damian MacDonald

Damian has been with TYO since 2024, working in production and administration across rehearsals and performances. In these roles, he assists in ensuring events run smoothly and is often a first point of contact for students and parents.

Damian completed a Bachelor of Music with Honours at UTAS in 2022, studying flute with Lloyd Hudson and Mardi McSullea. He has since focussed on performing contemporary classical music in Hobart and Melbourne, and has premiered works by composers Dominic Flynn, Hellgart Mahler, David William Murray, Holly Caldwell, and Russell Gilmour. His experience spans chamber, orchestral, and free improvisational ensembles.

Alongside performing, Damian has taught flute privately and in schools since 2021, and is currently pursuing a Master of Teaching at UTAS.
