Rachel is a vocal music specialist who believes in fostering creativity and connection through mindful, community-focused practice. Performing professionally since 1994 and teaching since 1999, she has excelled in close harmony and singing jazz with Big Bands. Career highlights include performing with Tart Attack, The Andrews Sisters Tribute, Cloudland Dance Band, and Matthew Ives and his Big Band.
Rachel pursued postgraduate studies in vocal pedagogy at Griffith University, laying the foundation for her teaching career. She worked for the University of Tasmania and the Tasmanian Department of Education as a vocal tutor and musical director, while also running a thriving private practice. In 2014, she transitioned into an administrative role, becoming a founding director of Musicians League Ltd. in London, where she performed and organised events across the UK, Europe, and the USA.
Since returning to Tasmania in 2017, Rachel has brought her extensive experience home and expanded her qualifications with a graduate certificate in museum studies from Deakin University. With a focus on placing music and performing arts within a broader cultural heritage landscape, Rachel remains passionate about using music to inspire creativity and connection, helping others explore and develop their unique musical voices.
