David Chalmers AO, CSC

Dave is a retired senior Australian Defence Force officer and former Commonwealth public servant with more than three decades of military service and fifteen years in senior executive roles across Veteran and Indigenous Affairs. He has led major national programs in commemoration, Indigenous policy, and humanitarian operations, including command of Australian forces overseas and national emergency responses. Most recently, Dave served as Chief Executive Officer of Aboriginal Hostels Limited. Now based in northern Tasmania, he contributes his extensive leadership and governance experience to community organisations and remains deeply committed to supporting youth development and cultural engagement.
