TYO Percussion Ensemble perform on the Deagan organ chimes

It's the 'Marvellous TYOers!' TYO's fab percussion crew have road-tripped to Launceston today to perform on the heritage Deagan organ chimes for the 'Marvellous Corricks' concert, as part of the Ten Days on the Island festival. These chimes are one of only a few remaining sets in the world and apparently they haven't had a performance outing since the 1930s. What an amazing privilege for TYO's young musos to be able to access and play them - and far OUT but they have made the most of the opportunity, working out how to play the chimes and getting performance-ready in just a few hours of hands-on rehearsal time! Thanks to QVMAG (now the home of the chimes) for the rehearsal access, the fabulous Lindy Hume of Ten Days for inviting us and the Marvellous Corrick family of Launceston for bringing the chimes to Tassie in the first place. TYO percussionist Jamie Willson arranged two pieces for the chimes and the TYO performers are Caleb Clark, Megan Cowley, Owen Ferri, Henry Southcott, Mabel Sward and Jamie Willson.
